Four years of designing apps, websites and internal tools in fintech, automotive and retail. I work out the why first, then every flow and state, so your developers get a build they can trust.

Teams Iโ€™ve designed for

Before I design anything, I ask why. Usually more than once.

Before I design anything, I ask why. Usually more than once.

Iโ€™m Sanath, a product designer in Mumbai. For 4+ years Iโ€™ve designed apps, websites and dashboards for startups and enterprises in fintech, automotive, retail, edtech and health, and led teams of four to six designers. I also build my own products, which is where most of my learning comes from.

Live and in use

docandthebone

A practice app for a physiotherapist friend: her week, her patients and her session notes in one place. Ten days from idea to her phone. I set the strategy and design, and directed Claude through the build.

Ekam

One app for the agent who sells both mutual funds and insurance, instead of an app per insurer. Researched, designed and prototyped end to end with Claude executing to my direction, then paused on purpose.

Not sure which fits? Tell me the problem and Iโ€™ll tell you.

Every state,

before a line of code

A sketch of my thinking. Not a real product.
One screen, thought through.
A rough sketch of how I think before anything gets built: where the data comes from, who needs to sign in, what the payment provider shows, and what people see when things go wrong.
Try it: pick a state, then turn on my notes
What I check on every screen
01Where each piece of data comes from
02Who has to be signed in
03What third parties control
04What people see when it fails

Design comes first

I donโ€™t move to development until every flow, screen and state is worked out in Figma. I learned this the hard way: skipping steps to get to a build only means more iterations later.

I think about whatโ€™s behind the screen

Where the data comes from, who signs in where, what happens when a payment fails. My engineering background makes me ask early, as I did on car&bike and BREEXI.

I learn by building

I studied engineering, then chose design. Iโ€™d never shipped an app myself, so I built one, and picked up the tools on the way.

AI comes after the thinking

I get the problem and the context clear in my head first, then bring Claude in to brainstorm and draft. Nothing it gives me goes in without me going through it in depth.

A 30-minute call

A 30-minute call

Day 1

You tell me what you want built. I ask why, who itโ€™s for and what has to change for the business. If Iโ€™m not the right fit, Iโ€™ll say so.

You get

Clear next steps, even if we donโ€™t work together.

A proposal that names the real problem

A proposal that names the real problem

Week 1

I come back with what I think the actual problem is, the scope that fixes it, a timeline and a quote.

You get

A one-page proposal you can share with your team.

Design in short loops

Design in short loops

Up to 6 weeks

Research, flows, then screens. You see work every week, not one big reveal at the end, so feedback lands while change is still cheap.

You get

Weekly check-ins and a live Figma file.

Handoff and launch support

Handoff and launch support

Launch

Developer-ready files, a component library and walkthroughs with your devs. I stay on through launch to review the build.

You get

Specs, a prototype and a QA pass on the build.
